How Much Would It Cost to Replace Bearings on Bicycle?

by Bicycle Parts on March 6, 2011

The bearings in the back rim of my 26in bicycle busted while I was riding, throwing my from my bike(ouch). How much would it cost to buy new ones ( it's just on one side, the other is fine ) and have it put in?

Well, there are no bearings in the rim, if you are referring to the hub, there is probably other significant damage. Just to get the few bearings that go in there would cost about 5 dollars, but to have your hub rebuilt and adjusted will cost about 25 dollars at a bike shop. You need to bring it to a bike shop, because I have no idea what exactly is wrong.

50 cents, maybe a dollar for the bearings, but yeah, if they FLEW OFF YOUR BIKE, then you have some deeper hub problems. get new hub internals i say, its about $20 for a good one, and about $20 to get the hub rebuilt, but you can do that yourself.
